About Me

“So! What can you tell us about yourself?”  Well, what an extraordinary question indeed! What can I tell you about myself? This part of the introductory usually has me stumped as I never quite know where to begin in my crazy little life. But I suppose if you’re reading this then you must already know me in some way, or fate has simply been kind enough to bring us together.

In any case my name is Jillian, though few of you know me as NativeAmerican4Life – hostess for Buffy Sainte-Marie and Floyd ‘Red Crow’ Westerman’s music. Can you believe most people think I’m a dude?

I was born and raised in southern Ontario, Canada for ten years, lived in California for nine and am now residing back in my home country attending college. I am Ojibway and a quarter Iroquois, Oneida (100%). My native heritage plays both an important and mysterious role in my life and as such it remains one of my most valued qualities!

I’m a writer aspiring to work in fiction but now that I’m a blogger I’m ecstatic to be able to share my life experiences. I’m also a devoted musician! I play piano, 8 ocarinas and the Native American flute. I enjoy the arts, mythology and I’m a sucker for music and photography. Family and love are very important to me and I can always count on my trusty giant fly swatter to beat back all the needless stress and despair!
